Current Pakistani Bowlers with Most ODI Wickets (Active)
Updated May 2026. Players who have played for Pakistan in the last 12 months.
| Player | Span | Matches | Wickets | Best Figures | Average | Economy | Strike Rate | 5-Wk Hauls |
| Haris Rauf | 2020–2026 | 57 | 104 | 5/18 | 25.65 | 5.82 | 26.42 | 2 |
| Hasan Ali | 2016–2025 | 68 | 102 | 5/34 | 31.16 | 5.80 | 32.21 | 4 |
| Shadab Khan | 2017–2026 | 71 | 85 | 4/27 | 35.45 | 5.26 | 40.42 | 0 |
| Naseem Shah | 2022–2025 | 34 | 60 | 5/33 | 25.91 | 5.48 | 28.35 | 2 |
| Mohammad Nawaz | 2016–2025 | 44 | 49 | 4/19 | 36.51 | 5.11 | 42.79 | 0 |
A few things from this table:
Haris Rauf – His strike rate of 26.42 is actually better than Shaheen Afridi (26.87). That means he takes a wicket every 26 balls. No wonder he is Pakistan’s go-to bowler in the middle overs.
Hasan Ali – Four 5-wicket hauls. Among current bowlers, only Shaheen (3) comes close. Remember his 2017 Champions Trophy final? That was peak Hasan.
Naseem Shah – Only 22 years old and already 60 wickets. If he stays fit, he will climb this list fast. His average of 25.91 is excellent for a young fast bowler.
Shadab Khan – 85 wickets as a leg-spinner in ODIs is solid. But zero 5-wicket hauls so far. That is one stat he will want to change.
Mohammad Nawaz – The left-arm spinner has 49 wickets from 44 matches. Useful with the ball, dangerous with the bat down the order.

A Few Things That Stand Out
Wasim Akram – 502 wickets. Second highest in ODI history after Murali. But what makes him special? His economy rate of 3.89 in an era of flat pitches. That is insane.
Waqar Younis – 13 five-wicket hauls. No Pakistani has more. His strike rate of 30.52 means he took a wicket every 5 overs. Imagine facing those yorkers with no DRS.
Shaheen Afridi – Look at his strike rate: 26.87. That is the best among all 15 on this list. And he is only 26 years old. If he stays fit, he could end up with 350+ wickets.
I personally think Shaheen will break into the top 5 before he retires. But Wasim’s 502? That might take another decade.
Active Players to Watch
Right now, Shaheen Shah Afridi leads among current Pakistani bowlers with 140 wickets. No other active player is close. For his full career breakdown, visit his player profile here.
